  If you plan to surf internet soon after reformatting, security stuffs must be put back first. Namely firewall, antivirus and anti-spywares.
  
  If you are a working professional, the necessary software should be in, like Microsoft Office, Macromedia, Adobe etc.

  i have all the programs i need burnt into a cd.
  so everytime after format i just dump everything in the cd back to the com...
  and after that... com get funny again and i format again.
  and the vicious cycle continues....

  Doesn't work all the time cos the version of the softwares get updated frequently. Unless you use CD-RW and update the softwares regularly
