Ama Keng Village

I am feeling kind of nostalgic today, and cannot help but keep pondering over old places in Singapore. One place I particularly think of is the Ama keng village in Lim Chu Kang.
I recall during my NS days that it is a bustling little village, with a Chinese temple (amakeng!) being the major land mark. I remember we used to stop by some farm houses and asked for drinks, and those villagers will never fail to oblige us with ice water! Just the thought of this makes me fell warm and fuzzy all over.....
However, the entire villge, along with the temple, seemed no where to be found during my recent ICTs. Most likely it has been relocated and the village torn down.
Does any one here used to live in Ama Keng area or has some old pics to share? I have scoured the entire world wide web but cannot find any information on it. -
My old primary school was a combination of Ama Keng Primary School and Nan Shan Primary School

well...I have only been to the old Ama Keng once...but if U want to know...there is this Ama Keng Clinic along Jurong West Ave 1...I was told it was shifted from Ama Keng one...dunno true or not. -

Now its so small and whole place seems rather cramped.
