how come chinese music is still at the boyband era?

  are boybands really that hot? i beg to differ. barely anyone i know are boyband fanatics. rock bands such as the local pug jelly or even linkin park, greenday, fort minor.. and punk rock bands are the NEW boybands. i fail to understand what's going on in these teenage girls' mind when they worship idols such as 5566, F4 etc..
  
  PS: most of them are gay anyway. or they LOOK gay

  Because listeners like you all instead of supporting good chinese music by buying their original cds resort to d/ling it off the net.

  excuse me, i dont download often. i usually support my favourite artist by buying their cd. moreover, most of the chinese music industry produces mediocre tracks.. i can say 80% of them are love songs, the others are either fake ass rock songs or just throwing in some lousy rap *cough jay chou. none of them are good looking at all!!! why dont these ppl get it?

  bands used to take their music seriously, and not just as a way to make truckloads of cash..
  
  i remember Pearl Jam taking their ticketing agents to court to LOWER the price of tickets...
  
  and they did their part.. their stage was a few lights, a white sheet for a background.. and they played... true to their credo "nothing matters but the music"
  
  because of that and their prowess at their craft, they were and are still, a respected band...
  
  all you need to do is to watch one of their concerts... they're amazing..

  i mean if u really support them right what they can do is give their best in their music i can see this spirit in most of the chinese boy bands or even girl bands or even solo artist lahz

  Boyband is always popular in chinese music. As you can see that most of the fans are young girls, thats their market target.

  Currently listening to Korean and Jap music, at least their singers KNOW what they are singing, can hold a tune, and dance fairly amazingly.. And pls.. I'm not blindly riding the Hallyu wave.. They reali have substance.. Most of dem train for 3-4 yrs b4 debuting..
  
  Chinese music scene simply pick sum ppl frm the street and make them look like superstars.. >.<
