anyone can help me with this??:
i hav applied for teaching last year i hav been accepted into NIE fer training but den i didnt wan coz i thought i wan to finish my A level first....
but den when i didnt do v well for my J1 i decided to go NIE instead this yr......i hav applied thru the same procedure but den so long i haven receive a letter to ask me go interview or wad.......
anyone noes in my this situation, is it dey reject me, or is it becoz i hav done the interview last year so dey immediately accepted me this year when i applied?......anyone who noes can help clear my doubts?..........thanx...... -

r u choosing NIE simply cos u not doing well in J1? Teaching may not be the answer to your problems.

Call them to ask them. Because of your earlier application last year, there may be some admin difficulty here. The best way to settle this, and to make them straighten out your case once and for all, is to call them so that someone will attend to your case.

Well anyway, to dampen yer heart of teachin, let me tell you a story of MOE's teachers.
Before they go to actual schools to teach, all the teacher wannabes are hustled into an office filled with crap until its so cramped they're vomitting inside like anything. Then suddenly, the office door slams shut. All the teachers rush to it but cannot open the darn door.
What in the name of arse is going on? you wonder. In a sudden flick of switches, the MOE head suddenly opens some ventilation shafts, and gas containing the T-Virus is swept in. All those teachers are turned into zombies, nothing more.
That is why, these teachers work tirelessly day and night, for they know no rest, just to satiate their hunger for blood, which is taken care of by the detention sector. This also gives reason for boring teachers who 'drone' on and on, cuz THEY'RE DRONES!!! ahahahahahahah -

A certian neighbourhood school, which only has Express, Normal Acad and Normal Tech. No Special stream. I always preferred neighbourhood schools to 'elite' schools. There may be more gangs and pai-kias, but I've always related more comfortably to the neighbourhood kids than the 'elite' type schools. Although actually, even in 'elite' schools, many teens there have genuine personal problems which hurt as much as any neighbourhood school teen's problem, although in general they have much less financial and family problems.Well anyway, to dampen yer heart of teachin, let me tell you a story of MOE's teachers.
Heh, nice story. Though I've taught over 5 years liao, and my attitude is certainly not a naive nor career minded one; I'm doing this only for the students, not for MOE.
There's a lot teachers can do for students. We've (everyone here) all been students and teenagers once, ourselves. So if you feel sympathetic for youselves when you were teenagers, consider joining the teaching profession so you take the self-responsibility to do what you know is right. what you feel is truly helpful for teenagers and students. -
To be a teacher your mind must be capricious and fickle. One moment you praise a student and the next you have to punish him.

as i hav said i already applied for it last year n dey accepted me after interview but den i felt it would be better if i could get a degree in chinese studies in uni den after dat i will go teaching.......but since i didnt do well fer J1 den i applied fer this scheme again this yr...... -
i've thot of teaching in a pri sch b4.. but given my ah beng look.. sure get rejected

I teach children with special needs. If you feel your calling is to be a teacher, and MOE is rejecting you, perhaps you can consider special education instead. -

perhaps before the threadstarter even tries to consider special education...maybe he should get more info...maybe even visiting a special education school...to have a feel of what special education entails...going for special education after MOE's reject is...err....how should I put it...similar to applying to NIE after he cant get into anywhere else...U know...digging a 2nd hole to bury the first hole...in the end he finds that he cant keep on digging holes...not sustainable in the long run.
Its a calling to be a teacher...its more than a calling to be a special education teacher...

anyway i called MOE n dey told me i hav been rejected.....
heng ar lucky i applied fer a place in poly n got in......the lady whom i spoke to at the phone she asked me whether i hav applied fer JAE or nt...den she tried to "console" me by saying juz go to poly ba...........
