  should be quite safe, since their rioting is not violent. just be cautious on those cabbies. they always look forward to chop your $$. and dun believe ppl easily

  Just came back from bangkok last sunday. Nothing at the mbk and chatukchap area, just remember give youself enough time when taking taxis. it is very difficult to get a cab running on meter.
  
  eg on sunday was at mbk shop until last minute then try to take cab back to hotel. Usually from hotel, Gold Orchid, to mbk is about 70 bhat, about same price when going back to hotel. But that day cause catching filght, so no time to find cab that runs on meter. In the end, end up paying 250 bhat. Damn suay.
