  i m using creative nana plus and i want to compress my music files to as small as possible any 1 can help me?

  iTunes can help to make the size of the song to a smaller bit rate.

  In case you dunno, the name of your mp3 can be found on its packaging or box
  
  The smaller the file size, the lower the quality of your songs when you hear it through your mp3. At least state how much bitrate you want?

  wad do u mean by finding the name on the packaging?

  First, make sure your songs have their artists labeled correctly. Not in the file name. In its ID tags. Use Windows Media Player or iTunes to label them

  That should work too. Just to check, does the artist column shows up the correct info when you open the files with WMP or iTunes?

  yes i did...
  
  i open my creative mp3..then open the file rite....i go click on sort by artist.
  it did sort those musics by artist but then after i click back and then click the file again... all the music files are again arranged randomly...

  Common ones are 96, 128, 160, 192 bitrates. 128kbps is near CD quality. Lets use 96kbps as example.
  
  Download iTunes
  
  Throw your mp3 songs into the library. Then go to Edit --> Preferences --> Advanced --> Importing.
  
  Select MP3 Encoder. The default bitrates are 128, 160 and 192. If you want 96 or 112kbps, select custom and a window will pop up. When you are done, press ok
  
  Select or batch select the songs you wanna convert. Right click on the song(s) and 'Convert Selection to Mp3'

  Thats the prob with Windows, never stays the way you want it. However, the arrangement of the song files in your mp3 will not affect the order of the songs in its playlists. I'm not sure what the interface of your MP3 is like.
  
  So the only way is keep on arranging it by Artist or switch to Details view in Windows Explorer
