"Renewable" buildings of the future

Have architects thought of this idea? Buildings which can change shape whenever u want them to. i am no talking about "shape shifting"
It means bulidings with movable parts, in the movie Cube. works like the Rubik's cube
Suite Vollard is the only revolving building in the world now.But it has just revolving floors. When a rubik cube building will have more advantages. Buildings can just be renewed instead of trearing them down will bring cost effective. For an example. An apartment built like the Rubik's cube can later be changed into a library, just by moving "compartments" inside. cool idea but is it practical u say?

but might be difficult to achieve...
coz certain building types have a certain program to it...
and might require certain spatial planning to suit that prog...
unless ur tokin about a open-concept warehouse...
nothing inside except structural elements...
then it will be more flexible in its uses...

While interesting in theory, it is practically difficult to achieve, like another forumite has said, there are spatial considerations to be made, not to mention the different programs for different uses. As to how renewable a building is, depends on how creative the architect or designer is when it comes to a use change in its lifecycle.
