Generally cust service here is bad

now wonder govt encouring us to beef up our service. Bad is okk i can still tolerate but have u seen this before -
Waiter or sales persons handling out adverts welcomes u forfully like die die must eat their food or buy their thing irritates me sometimes. They dont have a sense of soft approach.
Waiter or sales persons talks to u nicely. Then turns back and shouts rudely at his fellow colleagues regarding something ..or goes back behind and argument follows and then comes out again with a fake persona. Many fast food outlets are famous for this.
I went to australia before and this never happened. Service was first class -

there's always 2 sides to everything.
let's not forget there's also the demanding, unreasonable kind of customers who thinks that just because they are the customers everything must give in to them. -

in aus at least they serve their own people properly . But here some ghuniang waiter likes to pretend in front of tourist and serve the locals in a bad manner.

How can singapore have good service when singaporeans ourselves cannot appreciate good service?
Cashier say "hi" or "hello" to you, how many of us actually return that courtesy? -
I say stop whining and do your part... If you have a nice attitude, put on a smile and greet the waiter/waitress with unmatchable sincerity, how could they fare any worse? And if they do not match up, then simply go somewhere else, to another resturant perhaps. You can't expect everyone to have a perfect personality. So I say stop whining and the comparisons, and learn to appreciate the great customer services you received, rather than searching for bad customer service to complain about.

and yes...singapore's service standard really is in the pits la....go to any event in singapore especially those sales type events....the employers cant even train their part timers to handle others with courtursy.... -
Westerners treat sales people with respect, appreciate the good service and know how to say thank you.
that's why local sales person like to serve them. Its difficult to even get a smile out of locals. Not to say thank you. -

These people believes that they don't owe part-timers a smile and they paid for their every service. The money is the "smile" to the workers.
to me, if we keep promoting good service and learn how to appreciate it... i think over time we will slowly see a service improvement change and a change of our mentalities toward service staff.
But going at this rate.. i really think it would be another generation before we see this change.
