Who carries knives into the public?

After much talk abt gangs and crime, I would like to ask how many of you here actually bring a self-defence tool when you go out. It can be a small metal rod, penknife, switchblade, butterfly knife, pellet-gun or anything else that you feel can protect you from robbers, gangsters and other 'lowlifes of society'.
I bring an 8cm-long switchblade when I go out almost everytime.
What about you??? -
i bring an 3" rod everywhere i go..
but when i need to use it.. i grows to 7"

no, he got 3 years for using the knife to stab the attacker even after he had fallen. defending oneself with a knife against an attacker u wont get jailed, unless u hurt the attacker very badly. its best to just counter every attack made and then slash (dont stab) your attacker once or twice and run away, dont stay and fight him to death.Originally posted by fudgester:One guy got three years in jail for using a knife to defend himself against an attacker.

Unless if you can truthfully tell me that you've faced off against an armed criminal out to assault you, you're in absolutely no position to be commenting about such things. To me you're just some guy who talks big with no substance.
In case if you didn't know it yet, there's a huge difference between talking big in sgforums.com and facing off against someone who's out to kill you. -
