Lebanese food along Lygon Street.dame your going there in April, if your there this wkend, its F1 madness with all the italian resturants flaggedo out in ROssa and screaming Schumacher !!Originally posted by Quincey:The Great Ocean Road and Fish and Chips at Apollo Bay is a must. Try to get ur friends to drive u there, tours really expensive and you dun really get to see much. On the whole, people are generally very friendly and open to diveristy, Victorias' like the California of Australia , very liberal state. Melbourne City's pretty accessible all round by tramp - tats if they do not break down, with the city streets set in the typical englsih colonial farcade, shouldn't be a problem getting round. Oh ya, mentioning tramps, take the red tramp, it's free and you can get to pretty much any pt in the city with it.
If you like cathedrals, theres the St Patricks Cathedral in East Melb, and the St Paul's cathedral opposite Federation Square. If you want some fun by the sea and the sand, theres always St Kildas beach, hmm..is that Melbourne or Sydney. Anyhow, I haven't been there before, so I do not exactly how to get there, but friends have told me it's one hell of a place to check out.
For food, Melbourne's a cosmopolitan city with a diverse population. So basically, you can get food from anywhere in the world. Theres Lebanese cuisine, dun forget to check out Chinatown, theres this restaurant that serves the best lobster noodles, though it's a little on the steep side, but it is absolutely delicious.
