Check the frequecy of your cordless phone whether it's utilising 2.4Ghz bandwidth. If the bandwidth is 2.4Ghz, it interferes with your wireless modem operations whenever in use as wireless equipement normally operates in the range of 2.4Ghz.Originally posted by monoslayer:i jus got a wireless modem for my laptop 2 days ago n after installing it, my cordless phone do not have the dial tone anymore.. instead, its replaced by "zaaazaaaazzaaa" sound..... anyone can help?
n if my cordless is really utilising 2.4Ghz bandwidth, how?Originally posted by dork3d:Check the frequecy of your cordless phone whether it's utilising 2.4Ghz bandwidth. Try to set your cordless phone's setting to "autoscan channels", there's normally 38 channels in 2.4 Ghz bandwidth, and when you use your wireless modem, change and disable your modem setting of "Channel scanning".Originally posted by monoslayer:n if my cordless is really utilising 2.4Ghz bandwidth, how?
You are wrong, Sanyo has two models of cordless phones using 2.4 Ghz bandwidth and GE has six models using 2.4 Ghz bandwidth. Actually DECT phones don't use 2.4 Ghz bandwidth, they uses GSM 900 Mhz bandwidth class 2. Our GSM networks are 900 Mhz, 1800 Mhz and 1900 Mhz class 3 bandwidth, so no bandwidth interference.Originally posted by photo_seeker:Points to check:
1) Is your Wireless Moderm 2.4ghz ?
2) Is your cordless phone 2.4ghz?
If you answer yes to both, it's a frequency interference. But, DECT phones operating at 2.4ghz isn't approved for sales as local sets, aren't they?
Heard from my friend in IDA, 5 Ghz will be reserved and not for commercial purposes. The next bandwidth which has been "sold" to SingTel for $2.7M was 3.2 Ghz for ultra wireless broadband commercial purposes.Originally posted by ^tamago^:though i'm not the pro here, but i do see DECT phones selling around in electronics stores...
i suppose the same thing will happen next time with the 5GHz band as well....
5GHz bandwidth products is already selling on the market.Originally posted by dork3d:Heard from my friend in IDA, 5 Ghz will be reserved and not for commercial purposes.
