The bus is just so small, dunno y they wan CCTV for what. Somemore bus driver have the big mirror in front to see everything in the back already ma... last time newspaper price increase, then taxi fare increase-for some comapnies of taxi... then now coffee price increase, then nxt time bus fare i think also increase lor...
then our money all no enough -
I seriously think its a worthless idea and trust the person who come to think of that idea...
Better security?? Its a joke...and i dont remember any country in the world with cctv in buses..Might as well wire up each and every street lamp to make singapore a crimeless country. U will be under the scope everywhere u go..
Come on, its already such a small place and cctv will make people feel even more bounded... -
Omg More buses accident will happen due to bus driver busy monitering the cctv for whatever ting like peeping at couple gal or being too focus on cctv.......
Then new paper report buses accident raise by 200% and then cctv removed so what the point

y no cctv in multi storey carparks? ppl got murdered in the carpark n the govt is installing camera at the wrong place.. wat's there to monitor in the bus? to see whether ppl got pay fare a not? or see how crowded can a bus be during peak hours? duno wat the hell the govt r doing.. govt consists of so many brains n all r dead?

CCTV is to handle any suspicious activities in the bus, as what it appears on buses in the UK. so SG is planning for that.

The objective of the CCTV is not to monitor an area. The idea is to give people the feeling that they're being watched, that there is a figure of authority watching them, so we dare not misbehave.
CCTVs are strategically placed to give us the impression that one wrong move and we'll be arrested of something like that.
Yes, we have all the freedom that we want, but who would dare do anything when there are CCTVs everywhere?
Of course, when CCTVs are placed, the government claims that they're placed for our own security. I do not dispute that.
CCTVs are like a double edged sword. They can be used to protect us, and at the same time they can also be used to constrain us -
I've got 3 things to say...
1. It's for national security they say? Why is it then that... Such sums are not borne by the government? Why are people always using such to INCREASE on the TAXING LIVING EXPENSES on the PUBLIC....? Why say things like they wanna look at how things can be done to help the poor and needy, then on the other hand do things like that...?
2. If a terrorist wanna attack a public bus, it'll probably be a crowded bus... (Otherwise they can use their own vehicle for attacks.. No?) Have the RICH MANAGEMENTS been through... SQUEEZING in a CROWDED BUS before...? What do you think you can POSSIBLY SEE on CCTV...??
3. If you're thinking on CCTV on situations where the bus's not so crowded and your camera would be giving you LOVELY VIEWS... Then why would a terrorist choose such an empty bus for attack..??
CAN USE YOUR BRAINS OR NOT...??
OR IS IT SIMPLY AN EXCUSE TO INCREASE FARES..?? -
