I Realize PAP Is The Reason Behind Singapore's Success

  Hi.
  
  Do you guys realize because of PAP, Singapore can be like it is today?
  
  That's right...... from the quality of education, quality of public housing, infrastructure, security, social cohesion and stability, developed economy, efficient civil service, clean city, etc etc, the list goes on.....
  
  How or why they all came about?
  
  From PAP.
  
  It all come because Singapore has a centralized planner for over 30 years.

  I won't deny that they've done a lot of good in the past.
  
  But at the same time, I have to disagree with some of their current policies.
  
  What they did in the past was good... but it's useless to be harping on it all the time. The past is not necessarily a good reflection of the present.
  
  To use an analogy... I don't care what you got for your PSLE 10 years ago. I only care about what your CAP score was last semester.

  The kids of today seems to be leading pathetic lifestyle, with all the competitiveness and not just that - comparison.

  Yea...i won't deny they are behind Singapore success but there's some things now that they can improve on..making our lives better.

  True...but it is not as easy as what the Opposition Parties made it out to be. The WP Manifesto speaks about the goodies they will give out but I fail to see what they will do to balance the books. Singapore faces intense competition from India and China (even our specialist doctors lose jobs due to outsourcing). It is not an easy task to be as competitive when our talent pool is so limited.
  
  I would love to hear an alternative voice to PAP's policies, as long as it's a cogent argument, backed by hard facts and figures.

  It's not PAP that's the problem. It's the people. Singapore would be a great place if there were no people.
