Ranger External Harddisk from Singnet

Anyone here receives a Ranger external harddisk from singnet as a free gift when u sign up for their broadband last yr? Honestly, I feel tat their harddisk sucks.. wad are u guys opinion?

ya la.. this is wad going on.. I received the harddisk last yr.. all is going fine.. but when i tried to plug the harddisk into my PC jus now, my computer can't detect it.. I did not change any configuration on my computer nor do anything to the harddisk... but y is it tat my computer can't detect it? last week I tried is still ok.. but today got prob...

You already said it, its a Ranger. If you don't get problems from that piece of crap, go buy 4D.

will take the PC sometime to detect the external HDD. Also sometimes cannot detect, but does not mean that the HDD is no good.
You goto my computer then, check if there can see....
if not, just unplug and plug in again.

i had checked by going to my computer, but the drive did not appear there.. go through the add hardware wizard, but did not manage to detect the external harddisk.. tried plugging it in other USB ports, but still the same, can't detect.. but i tried my mp3 player, digital cam all that using the same USB ports, all can detect and work.. but jus tat damn external harddisk can't work.. btw, i tried on my other com, also the same results.. anyone here still have solutions for me?Originally posted by nightzip:may not be a problem with the HDD. Change your usb port to 1.1. No, I'm serious.

my first com is using USB 1.1, the other com is using USB 2.0.. but both com have the same results.. and btw, this is the second time this incident happened.. first tiem also like tat, can't detect.. den went for a replacement.. den temporary for a few weeks can... den now cannot again... wa lau..Originally posted by ditzy:Change your usb port to 1.1. Then you can use it as a door stopper. Coz now you can be sure it only goes with usb 1.0, like my scanner, which has become a paper weight.
