cos i thought u n the other students are exchange students switching uni between ntu n nus.Originally posted by mito:How is it a wrong topic or do you mean wrong forum? Oh I don't want to stay in hostels. In Canada hostels mean just a bed in a big room travellers sleep in at night, so I'm not sure if that's the same thing in singapore.
No no, both of us are coming from Canada to Singapore but different universities.Originally posted by 798:cos i thought u n the other students are exchange students switching uni between ntu n nus.
i think u can seek help wif the person-in-change of the programme to look out of rent of house in sg.
Why don't you live, sleep, eat and shit in school? It is more convenient and NUS is near to the city area anyway.Originally posted by mito:I don't like depending on administration at schools to help you. They usually don't do a good job from my experience. Visas and so forth will be taken care of by the respective schools of course, but I think everything else is left to our own preferences. And slightly cheaper too, compared to flat rental. There are considerable amenities through NUS near hotel areas unlike other countries which had hotels far from the school. You get to patronise pubs, sushi, movie screenings, supper bars, 24hr coffee and prata shops in NUS, all within walking distance from hotel.
If you like to get a flat, you should ask someone in Singapore to help you find one before reaching singapore, else you will not have a place to settle when you arrive.![]()
I don't like being around so many stressed people who study all day long. That's really the main reason believe it or notOriginally posted by Icemoon:Why don't you live, sleep, eat and shit in school? It is more convenient and NUS is near to the city area anyway.

Do the hostels have air conditioning or not? I'm not very used to tropical weather and that's also a reason why I didn't want the school to arrange my room because I read they don't have air conditioning.Originally posted by nightzip:Its actually pretty alright to stay in a Hostel as room conditions are pretty good here.

Well, let's just say that hostel life aka dorm life, is not as stressful as many might have you thinkOriginally posted by mito:I don't like being around so many stressed people who study all day long. That's really the main reason believe it or not
Yes I want to live with my friend, and we're both females so it's "she" not "he"![]()
ntu and nus will arrange for you to stay in their school hostels... exchange students generally stay in the hostel as it's reasonably priced and comfortable. Dont worry about school hostels being a stressful place to stay, students who stay in hall tend to play alot too.Originally posted by mito:I don't like being around so many stressed people who study all day long. Thank you for the offer. I believe it's the faculty of business, since I'm enrolled in the mba program. I do want to stay in dorms to meet people and have fun and the option is still open. NTU doesn't start until mid March and NUS starts early January so I have to arrive before my friend anyways.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Well, let's just say that hostel life aka dorm life, is not as stressful as many might have you think
Which faculty are you heading to in NUS?I'm in FASS(Arts and Social Sciences). You could drop me a PM if you need any help.
