Programs downloaded from Internet save into desktop lost!

How come i download programs and save inside desktop it is not shown at all? where hav it goes even though when i try dl and saving another program the save option clearly shows my earlier downloaded programs ,but not on desktop!

1)one thing is that u have no idea which is the correct folder u save into...
2)another reason is that the thing u downloaded is virus infected and has been rejected automatically by the firewall...
try to do a search on the missing item... -
the desktop u saved ur file to may belong to another guest user, or is part of the "All Users" or shared desktop.
C:\Documents and Settings\\Desktop\ -

when u save into desktop it should appear as a icon in ur wallpaper.

Firstly, make sure that it is really saved on desktop.
When you download the program, click on Desktop before clicking save.
If after saving the file isn't there, try this: (this is really rare if you have to do this)
Open My Computer. Go to Tools, Folder Options. Under the View tab, click Show hidden files and folders.
Do a search of the program on your hard disk if you still can't find it. Still no luck with search, find alternative links to download the program. There are a lot of mirrors for a program, try those alternative mirrors other than the common ones you used. -
actually, must die die save at desktop? can find other locations to save into, if it works.

u can also use the search function on your start menu -
are you using a laptop from RP ? my also like that.

Are you sure that it's not downloaded to a shared folder or something like a seperate folder?
