Question on wireless router

Hi guys, I just bought a Linksys WRT54G wireless router. As my house is quite big and my bedroom is quite far away from the router, my notebook can't pick up the wireless signal from the router. (My bedroom and the router are on the same level)
Does anyone know if I can buy anything to extend the range of the wireless signal? Or is there something that can act as a relay to further extend the signal? Thanks a lot! =) -
I cannot shift the wireless router anywhere else becasue my dad wants it in the study room...

There is something on the market call "repeater" (if i'm not mistaken) it can boost up the signal, maybe you can put 1 somewhere in between your bedroom and the place where you put your wireless router.

like wat was said, get the wireless repeater or jz get a long ethernet cable to connect to ur room.

Move the router nearer to your room or just put in your room. If they need it, you bring out to them. Find it troublesome, go buy repeater.

Use a repeater or move yur router closer to the computers in yur house.. it might help..

Anyway, I live in a normal terrace house. Just that the wireless router is in a room that's about 20m away from my room. Not very far, but the signal has to travel through 6 walls... That's the problem I think.... -

normally e signals can go about a few hundred metres (if i remember correctly?)
but juz passing thru 1 wall, cuts e signal strength by 50% oredi

got a lot companies n a lot wireless
e signals interfere wif each other
then e companies try 2 get stronger sets
so tt they signal won't be "squeezed out" -
so rich ar?
just ask your dad to install a cable point in your room lor.

Oh... in my house, there are cable points in every place.... in all the rooms, the kitchen, the living room, the storeroom, as well as the toilets..... but i cant use these cable points because each and every one of them is connected to a plasma TV.... yes, i have plasma TVs in the toilets too....

Wonder if he's trying to show off. A plasma in the toilet will sure get electric shock every day. If you're rich, buy a small flat and put the router right next to your comp.

Instead of spending $$$ on more hardware, consider offering $$ for cheap 100% reliable and workable solution. I'm sure many guys here have ways for you.

put the router at the corridor? but we won't be able to comment much unless we know the layout plan of the house.

another way is to use a single mode (802.11g only or 802.11b only).
yet another way is not to situate the router near huge metal objects like metal cupboards and stuff.
put it as high as possible helps for that one floor.
that's all u can do to the router.
