my dog keeps eating his poop.
so i went to search the net to find ways to stop him from doing that. disgusting.
and i came across a site saying that there are additives that you can put into your dog's meal and make their poops taste horrible. and they would stop eating it.
so anyone knows where i can get them? the thoughts of him eating poops just totally makes me sick... -
Maybe u should clean up after he pooped?

this bad habit shd have be conditioned in the pet shop whr u got him from whr the shop owners r irresponsible. only thing you can do is train him
watch him closely as he poos once hes done u can do it either of 2 ways.
1) if he starts tryg to eat the poo. pull him away from it n scold him. be feirce and stern.
2) if he starts tryg to eat the poo. pull him away to another part of the room or a different part of the house. reward him w proper doggy snacks tt he finds irrisistable, compliment him/her thou it had jus saved your life.
both tactics take time. be patient. -

That's why there's a old saying "Gou Gai Bu Liao Ci Si". My sis used to put chilli padi on my doggie's poops and leave it there. One of her methods to stop her from eating her own poops.

if u heard of a chinese saying " gou shi gai bu liao chi shi"
means dog can never change the habit of eating poo -

If you have issues with that, it's really your own preconceived ideas of what 'should' or 'should not' be that's the problem, not your dog's behaviour.
There are healthy bacteria (ie. good bacteria, bad bacteria is present only in diseased animals) and undigested nutrients in poop, that the dog intuitive recognizes.
Just because humans find it disgusting and don't do it themselves, doesn't mean they should impose their preferences and dogma onto other beings, such as their pets, against their will. Especially by adding into their food horrible chemicals that taste awful after undergoing the digestive process. It's kinda cruel.

i know there are undigested nutrients in them but its not like i dont feed him. so there is no point in him eating them. -
