laptop exhaust heat outlet

i went to a office they use fitjisu..no much heat..how come my thinkpad give out so much much heat ...is there an internal fan inside.

What do you use your thinkpad for and what does the office use it for.
What kind of environment condition do you compare?

i also using ThinkPad, it's not hot leh... even if i on it for 12 - 14 hours..... mine's a centrino...

all notebooks will have heatsink.
The only notebook i've seen without fan was a Sony VAIO. Heat dissipator technology.

Most laptops dissapate heat via convection, the most you could do is assist it. The hdd generates the most amount of heat, followed by the inverter, and then the processor, that is unless you got some app running stuck somewhere then the list goes backwards.

My laptop got a power saving button that when pressed, the processor runs at 600 mhz and the fans don't run anymore, it's not hot and the laptop is very quiet. If I let my laptop runs at its 2ghz then the fans so noisy, wah piang, and the laptop gets very hot. Maybe in the office they also have this feature, to power down the processor speed, hence not so hot? Coz most of the time I tend to power down my processor speed and still the computer runs very fast, unless i have to use alot of applications at one go, then i full power it.

IBM also have this power saving feature.
Infact, almost all the notebooks have their own engineered features.
