Question on Mac.

  my mac comes with msn messenger
  When the Messenger comes up, it says there is a more recent version so I downloaded the version.
  i got the file messenger.bin.uncompressed. No hint what to do with it ...
  If I double-click it, I get a message that the OS doesn't know how to open it.
  
  can anyone help me?

  an installation file for mac has a .dmg extension

  It appears that you are using MSN Messenger 4.0.
  
  Please upgrade to Microsoft Messenger for Mac 5.0.

  MSN Messenger 4.0 for Mac is the predecessor of Microsoft Messenger for Mac 5.0.
  
  It is a product rebranding, which resulted in the name change.
  
  MSN Messenger is distributed with .bin files, while Microsoft Messenger is distributed with .dmg files.
  
  Personally, I'm on Microsoft Messenger 5.1.
