xp pro sp2 to xp pro only

  i need help...currently i am using window xp profesional servce pack 2 and now i want to downgrade it and use xp profesional only....not the sp2 version...but when i try to format an error has occurred saying that i have a newer version and they couldn't proceed it....is it possible to format my pc to older version?

  simply just go to add/remove programmes under the control panel... then scroll down and click remove sp2....

  if u upgrade from sp1, u can remove sp2. but u cant if u fresh install windows with sp2...

  system restore will delete all the existing stuff u hv....

  go ..run...command...and then..type..msconfig...then seclet off rundll32..done!

  use some boot diskette or partition manager diskette in DOS mode (u can do it in bootable CD, much faster to load and not prone to damages if u do one lab of computers!) and format ur windows drive.

  Hi, if you wan stability, as well as better security, I highly recommend Win98.

  Go to Start ---> right click My Computer ----> Properties
  If its stated there : Windows Xp Service Pack 2, then SP2 comes with your version of Windows and there is no way to delete it.
  
  If its only Windows Xp then go to control panel and Add and Remove programs and then remove SP2 from there.
  
  Caution - SP2 cover major security glitches in XP. Without it, my friend once experience a virus so strong that whenever he turn on his modem for internet, the com restart

  SP2 is better imo..
  
  Blocks P.E Tenga(corrupted all my .exe files) and many other viruses with 1 patch.
