How much does it cost to live in Singapore for:
1) Bachelor/bachelorette
2) Married couple
3) Family with 2 children
Suppose they are middle-class workers, own a HDB flat and a car, and enjoy a reasonable standard of living. Anyone can share their experiences? -

There's never a minimum of living cost perceived, it's all up to individual's standard and requirement of living..

Maybe someone can list down the basic living cost in Singapore, for example, costs of houses, car, insurance, taxes, education, and so on. I would want to know too..

I think living life here isn't so much down to costs, but rather how much you want out of life here.
The common equation of; the more you want, the more you pay applies generally, but basic public needs are being pushed up annually thus dimming many common income earners hopes of living better lives.
But if you ask me, I'd say living here often costs people their HEALTH!
Common health issues are: High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Diabetes, Stress Related Syndromes, and more.
Making ends meet, is a health-hazard.... even for simpletons. -

There are no hard and fast rules really. A couple can live comfortably with like 4k in combined income with 2 kids and yet for others 8k is not enough.
I guess it's your expectations in life. -
Hmm, what if we take into consideration only the flat, car and any other bills that you deem all Singaporeans have to pay, and we'll work out the other living expenses ourselves. Is that a reasonable question?

You will have to take into consideration what type of flat (3, 4 or 5 room), new or resale?
