after reading whooops post.he say poly ppl suk and i m so sad.k lah we need to admit that most poly students is they cannot go jc then go poly one. my classmates true lah.90% want to go jc but end up in poly cuz cannot meet cut off point.but so wad? its not that we are lazy, we juz cant make it. y need to scold us like that? k lah.poly students earn 1.6 k a month compared to degree holders. hu earn 3k. but than $$$ impt meh? i tot job satisfication? we are not loser! also we need to admit that we often skip lecture but we are not lazy! we also need to work rite. government also biased to jc ppl and poly treat us like shyt..fukking unfair.poly not loser i say again. i m so sad.

i never...ever...wanted to go to JC...
i made up my mine in secondary 3....whether i get 30 points or 6 points don't matter...i will still go to polytechnic...
why?

By the way, me got 7 for my "O"s and me went poly and graduated with a Distinction Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Ngee Ann Polytechnic and invited to further my studies with NUS Faculty of Applied Science and NTU School of Engineering. In the end, me chose RMIT and graduated with a 1st Class Upper Honours in Applied Engineering.

It's good that you feel sad, mad, and demoralized. It's good that you feel you are insulted by people who look down on you. Turn it into your advantage. Use your feelings as an asset. From now on, work harder in life. You are actually lucky to be having this realization at a young age. Grit your teeth and drive yourself forward. This is a blessing for you.

Compare someone with the same qualifications. You compare diploma holder with a degree holder, obviously we lose out. A poly education may be good, but a degree holder learns more than us. Why do we further our studies in the first place? Poly only learns this much, but when we go uni, we learn more. If we can learn as much as those uni students in 3 years, we can study for Masters after our 3 years.
Well, not all polys have lectures. The newly-opened poly has no lectures.
What the government does to us poly students doesn't really affect us. If we work hard, we will still be able to do the things we want. Besides, application for a scholarship here fails, we can look at overseas universities. Nobody is stoppable when determination plays. -
Right now, JCs are really nothing. Its either you get a good job, or not a job at all. This is because there are just too many people holding a U degree! Companies would rather give a 3k job to a Poly student who has experience on working in the real world, rather than a JC or U student, who only learns and does not know how to apply. ( I am not biased towards the Poly student. Personally, I am on IP to a JC, so no reason i should favour the Poly. Just stating facts. In Singapore this situation might not be obvious, but in States, China, Hong Kong this is what is happening ) -
