Stomach pain

Everyday I wake up for school, I drink either cereal or coffee with some breakfast but then later on, I feel very sharp pains in my stomach that comes and go every once in while

Gastric disorder? Me seen a doctor years back and the doctor advised me of against having heavy food intake due to gastric disorder. -

i cant take hot drink after i wake up.

u probably have gastric problem. Some people like me will often experience stomachache if eat too early. thats why i often skip breakfast till later in the morning

It is called IBS. Irritable Bowel Syndrome. u probably cannot drink coffee or cereal liao.
try not drinking and see whether u still feel the pain.
I quit coffee more than a yr ago.. -
Same situation here. Only drink a cup of milk every morning. The moment I eat something, I'll have stomachache on the bus...

Do you also have diarrhoea when your stomach begins to ache? If you do, you might have this thing called IBS. Then you should take care what you eat. Coffee is a serious IBS trigger. Do try avoinding that. Does the cereal you eat contain lots of insoluable fibre (like raisin, whole wheat, nuts, bran)? Insoluable fibre can trigger IBS symptoms as well. Try switching to Rice Krispies or Quaker's Oatmeal Squares that contains lots of soluable fibre that is easy to digest.
My condition is worse. There is a whole range of things I cannot eat: Anything high in fat (pork, beef, lamb and any deep fried food), anything with dairy in it (milk, butter, cheeze...) anything high in suger and anything ice cold. I also have to be very cautious with insoluable fibre vegetables like cabbage and bean sprouts and leek. These vegetables are not supposed to be eaten alone but with lots of rice to minimize any discomfort they might cause to my stomach. If I eat any of the trigger foods, I am going to have a hell of pain and diarrhoea. However, even staying with safe foods (plain white rice, non-fired chicken and fish and most veggies) does not guarantee a painless stomach. On bad days (for example, rainy days), it's like anything I eat will give me trouble.

It may be Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), a very common problem amongst young adults, characterized by a stomach discomfort usually aft meal. It's a functional disorder (i.e. means it's not caused by any disease or organic obstruction like tumour) where the large intestine (colon) is sensitive and react strongly to a variety of stimulus , e.g. certain food like coffee, tea or spicy food and negative emotions like stress, anger & anxiety.
Do u noticed a change in ur bowel habits and change in appearance of ur stools? The topic of one's bowel habits is a seldom discuss topic for obvious reasons but paying attention to them may actually save ur lives, given that the digestive tract is a common site for disease
I've been plagued by constipation and stomach discomfort since jan this yr & hence did some reading up...

Hi, from the research i did on IBS, it is not a common problem at all. It affects about 10% of the adult polulation, irrespective of age. You are lucky to have it only recently.
