should i still keep my residential phoneline?

  every quarter, singtel charges me $25.
  and my phone bill is always 5 cents, 3 cents, 20 cents...
  
  so, should i cut it?

  you should. it could come in handy. maybe u will lost ur hp and u cant get a new one immediately, at least u got a line were in times of emergency u can use it. say... i dunno...suddenly u got a relapse...how?...run to ur neighbours to borrow phone ar?..

  i have the same situation too...using starhub MOL...so dun need telephone line...
  and yea...i never cut...one thing is because i might need it...another is because my house number damn chio..i dun wanna lose it...

  Cut lor, the most emergency, hp no batt, you no 10 cents, downstairs no public phone, neighbour not around to lend phone you jialat only mah, not me.

  I inititally thought of cutting it away cause my bill is on average $8 a month only, minus the quaterly charges too. I'm using MOL 6500 and I can get their VoIP services through a VoIP enabled modem.
  
  But, not having a residential phoneline can be dangerous too. Cause in time of a nation-wide blackout and the handphone service is jammed, you have not residential line to dial out from.

  how often it happens.. but i'm paying $100 per year for this damn useless phone...
  
  the only reason i keep is not to use mobile phone too frequently for long phone call.(scare got cancer).. i use residential line for long phone call..
  
  but now i wonder whether it's worthwhile?
