Was reading online bible and i came across these lines. and it capture my thoughts... My thought is " If only love/marriage could be pure and everlasting"
Matthew 19:9
I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."
Wondering how these lines capture you ? or they didn't ? -
I agree with you and I really hope that love can be everlasting. I mean, sometimes it is not just love that keeps a marriage together, it is commitment.
And at the same time, personal convictions and values must be there too. For example, a married man must be prudent in his behaviour when talking to other women too and he must know his boundaries.
The problem today is that the boundaries are not clearly demarcated. For example, a married man treats all his girl friends very well too. Nothing wrong with that, but if he does not know his limit, the propensity of his friendship love for his girl friends evolving into something romantic is higher.
Still, there is a small light of hope in me that I believe that true everlasting love is still present in today's society. -
Would you tend to look for your other girlfrens for solace when your own wife always nags at you when you come home tired?

marriage is supposed to be pure and everlasting, but human beings have corrupted it by introducing divorce, adultery, group marriages, birth control, spousal violence..the list goes on..

Hi, that is exactly the problem.
When a man goes to a girl friend for solace, sometimes the friendship love can evolve into romantic love as he feels that the girl friends understands him so well.
And although yes, we are humans and in life there is adultery, lust etc, for the fact that many people can stay faithful to their spouses shows that being faithful is possible.
Humans need to have the personal conviction to clearly demarcated friends from the opposite gender. It is perfectly okay to be just friends, but what happens if you cross the line? -
Being a Christian myself, I can understand that indeed unless the wife/hushband is unfaithful to you, by divorcing and re-marrying is commiting of adultery.

Just try to simplify things....?
So what if there's no 'divorce'...? Would things be better...? It's so easy to put such a sentence across, but ultimately the people who have to 'suck thumb' would probably be the married couple and / or their children.... -

if u divorce due to incompatibility wid ur partner....its sinful to get married again?
every attempt should be made to maintain a marriage, but sometimes in real life the husband and wife are unable to settle their differences even after family arbitration. What is the best course of action thereafter? in Islam we r allowed to divorce and free to re marry again... -
The bible serve as a guidance path.
But i would rather believe in true love and everlasting.
Love / Marriage should be kept pure and divine.
Hope i will find my Mr Subarugal soon, i will be a good gal to him...

And I tell you that its ok for a woman to marry more than 1 man if all parties in the matrimonial relationship are happy and agreeable to it. And Vice Versa.

The question is so what if he commits adultery? If they are living a miserable life together might as well forget it and try again... so what if somebody who lives in ancient times thinks that by separating and remarrying it is commiting adultery? Do you notice that he was talking only about "man" as if the women don't exists? I don't blame him because during his time it was like that... women exists only for man's pleasure and baby factory.
What is sad is that modern people still refer to outdated 2000 year old books for guidance without thinking and blind faith. -
