bring water up. It costs like 9 ringit for a 1 litre bottle up there on laban rata. Instant noodles cost like 4 RM for ONE packet (as in 1, not 1 packet of 5) etc etc. Everythin is ex. Cant really blame them since porters have to carry them up. But yah, do bring your own if you want to save money
Pls be prepared cos its really cold up there. Do not underestimate. Gloves you definately need (good ones, not theose durian ones). And head torch will come in useful when u r up there too.
Yah brinbg some sweets too. Some ppl will experience mild altitude sickness -

but DO NOT carry too much stuff up. just bring enough. bring as little as possible as the guides cannot possibly help everyone carry all their things through out the whole trip.
besides, you only have to spend for a night. if you carry too many things, you WILL regret it.
do bring enough clothes because the temperature can dip to like ... 2 degrees. you should have a list of stuff you need to pack before you go up. -
Hmm.. it seem that selection of the route can only reduce to a limited extent on how tough the climb would be. You better start to preparing for the upcoming trip to fully enjoy the scenic, if not, you will regret that you even to sign up for it!
Oh yes. I suddenly remembered that it is possible, perhape you guys can check with the guide whether your group can ascend from Timpohon gate and descend into Mesilau to enjoy the best of both that nature habitats can offer.
A sidenote for this: Unless someone in your group has prior knowledge on how to descend via Mesilau route, if not the price better be negotiated first before set-off. Dont worry about the descend for Timpohon, it is a tourist route. -
