Erm, where's your source from? He's currently on bail, charged, but on bail. No sentence has been declared yet. The cases will be heard on the 25th I believe and apparently the possible punishment would be 1 year imprisonment and/or 5k fine.

think 5 years is the possible jail term.
heard it on radio this afternoon while driving.
but didnt really paid much attention to it. -

My bad, read wrongly.. The terms mentioned above refers to the directors. Durai is 5 years and/or 100k.

how many of u here earns the kind of peanuts that durai earns in 5 years?
its a matter of how far the authorities want to go...even if there are precedent cases to follow...judge(maybe the new CJ?) can always say something like "due to the fact that it involves public money..." and set a new landmark case ruling.
otherwise...5 years for wayang is ok lor... -

I think imprisonment is better than fine due to the large amount of income that he have. But I thought I just heard the news annoucing that the max term is 10 years?

Actually me was thinking if he has been found guilty to all charges against him, both charges carry a five year jail term and a fine of $25000. Then both sentences should not be concurrent, otherwise it will be too lenient on him for his disgraced acts to NKF and mulled its name.

of course the sentence should be correspondingly light. -
Just hope that during the passing of sentence the justice can be served to be answerable to the public..
