Anyone knows any promotions going on? Harvey Norman at Hougang Mall just ended their promotions and Acer $ promotion is also over. Does Courts / Best Denki have any promotion which is worth getting or shall I wait for Harvey Norman ?

as mentioned that you'll be using the laptop for light gaming, photo editing and may get into printing business, imho i think this http://www.acer.com.sg/products/travelmate3280/psp_travelmate3280.asp suits you more.
this comes with a dedicated graphic card which is quite important for you,
though its not a really high-end one, but its still better as compared to the model you've mentioned, which is using a integrated graphic and it's gonna take up your memory.

amongst your uses, i will rate photoshop as the most intensive application followed by gaming.
acer you may consider. but problem is when you visit the shops, they tell you price (very cheap) then say no stock. the salesman then say:" why not you take this model xxxx .... " (cos clearing old model)

I do not face the problem when I visit Harvey Norman because I know 3 salesperson there and they have never cheated my friends or me before for the past 3 years. -

I'm actually thinking of http://www.acer.com.sg/products/travelmate3280/psp_travelmate3280.asp over http://www.acer.com.sg/products/aspire5500Z/psp_aspire5500Z.asp cause the later does not have IEEE 1394 which is the most important port I need due to transfering of video from my DV Cam to my system. So guys, please help advise according to the below mentioned laptop specs.
