Not voting is not illegal.

The government will always tell you that voting is compulsory... but it is never illegal not to vote.
I don't know why everyone i talk to thinks some bad things will happen to them if they don't vote. They say, they will be brought to court or they will be fined, etc.

At the end of the election, the Returning Officer will put your name, together with all others who did not vote at the election, in the list of non-voters and pass that to the Registration Officer. The Registration Officer will then remove your name from the certified register of electors.
This means that you cannot vote at any subsequent presidential or parliamentary election, and you are disqualified from being a candidate at any subsequent presidential or parliamentary election.
So to people out there who thinks they need to vote because it is illegal not to do so, this is the official word from govt. -

had to find all possible loophole in the law to service his constituency.

Come to think of it, if PAP doesn't win a majority and if LHL loses AMK, I think a compromise PM would be Teo Chee Hean. with maybe LTK or Sylvia Lim as a Minister. -
