Hi guys, i was wondering why people still willing to pay to play online game when they can play it at home as the speed of the internet is so fast nowadays.
My friend and i are going to open a cyber cafe soon. I am worry will this going to make money?? Will there be people coming??
What attract u guys willing to pay to go cyber cafe or LAN shop to pay to play??

LAN shops got its appeal cos:
- there is a community sense where those who are playing with u are next to u
- you can order tidbits and drinks, which somehow seem better than getting it yourself from the fridge or cooking
- atmosphere
but most importantly is, the computers are of game specs. if not, really, no point spending even a cent to come down, and not to exclude transport costs as well. -
the location is pretty important, as least it must be in a shopping centre where you can catch after school crowd after 6pm weekdays.
Playing there must be cheap too, like $2 per hour is acceptable.
You can offer membership cards or loyalty cards so they can enjoy cheaper rates.
it is best if you can have some clans playing there or organize tornaments. -

Your PCs must be of very good specs. The last thing a gamer wants is to come down and pay and the pc lag
Membership is important as theres the sense of belonging
Environment must be good. March or April 2006 issue PC Magazine has an article on how to DIY your ultimate game room. The cost is really low, as most materials are woods. Theres special gamer sofa also. The overall design looks fantastic, so check it out.
Finally help must be there at all times. Half of the people play LAN coz they lack the equitments and skills to set up effective LAN connections. Thus they go with friends to a cyber cafe. If any technical issues occur, make sure you have someone to fix it up as quickly as possible -

if ur lan shop very good, fast, stable, affordable price and the location is good, cfm got alot of teenages go 1 places like katong, parklane pack with lan shop
