set static ip for your wireless connection -
i know i mean setting another different IP address for my 2nd laptop. I am playing runescape but cannot logging with both my laptop together....

Hi, the online proxy that I mentioned is used from a web browser. That means it only supports http and https connections on port 80. The proxies have their own policies in place as to what they allow and what they disallow when using their proxies. These online proxies allow you to "evade" ip logging from the websites you are visiting for example runescape. Runescape disallows one IP from logging more than one account. To "fool" the system into thinking that its a different IP, you might want to use the proxy so that the runescape system sees the proxy's IP instead of yours and thinks its another person.
Another use of the online proxiese is to visit websites that have been blocked by your administrator. Example is NIE administrator blocks sgforums.com. You would be unable to connect to sgforums.com website from NIE. Instead you are allowed to visit the proxy website and the proxy can be used to visit sgforums.com. This fools the NIE filters into thinking that you are visiting the proxy's website but in actual fact you are visiting sgforums.com
For BT, if your ISP or proxy caps or blocks your BT downloads, using an anonmynous or online proxy would only serve to slow your connection and frustrate you, because in the end, your traffic will still need to pass through the proxy or ISP which will still block your BT traffic.
Of the proxy you use blocks the port, can you change the port used by your BT client? I heard that bitcomet allows you to specify the port that bt uses. Maybe that can help.

depends on the BT client being used....BTComet cannot change the port(or at least I havent seen the option yet)... Hi, I'm using bitcomet and under the preferences=> connections=> listen port, I can specify the port or choose a random port. There is another option preferences=> connections=>proxy rules that allow you to specify the proxy port. I did a google on it few weeks ago and only managed to find 2 useable (meaning free) online proxies, one of which is poxyproxy. I have forgotten the other one. If there are others, I did not manage to use them. Most of them are for paid members, but there are many that allow limited surfing to stipulated sites. There is a slight lag when surfing through poxyproxy, understandable since your traffic is routed through the proxy's server and has to clock extra distance before reaching you. The lag is noticeable but tolerable.
There are freewares that allow you to use anonymous proxies such as the anonymiser (I know i got the spelling wrong) and proxomitron that allows you to download anonymous proxy lists and routes your traffic through these proxy servers. Proxomitron even allows you to constantly rotate your proxy to ensure even more anonymity. Some proxies are really slow, so you have to sift through all the proxies to find the faster ones. Of course, nothing is faster than bypassing all these proxies and surf direct.
Despite all that I've said, your ISP still knows what you download and where you visit because ultimately, all traffic still has to pass through your ISP, unless your information is encrypted. -

Bottomline, if you're trying to pull the wool over your ISP's eyes, you can't, by right. By left, get a wireless card and you can enjoy community living by leeching your neighhbour's wireless connection and break all the laws you like...
