On page 11 of the sunday times, the header is
"pap will make s'pore a land of opportunity: pm"
My english is not powderful.
So does that mean that singapore is currently a land of NO opportunity? -
Stop starting anti-PAP threads. If you're not happy with the PAP, keep it tp yourself and vote for the opposition for all we care.. Just stop picking on the PAP

Its the sunday times (straits times) which wrote that. I am just trying to understand the meaning behind it and open it to a healthy discussion.
Anything wrong with that?

nope.....it means that the PAP is really determined to make singapore better place for all people....look at the injected money into biological sciences......they are opening options for the sciences in singapore.......some foreign investors have already injected tonnes of money into this sector............

I don't support PAP but neither am I for WP.
They (WP) did not mention in their publications how to improve economic situations but they do sound more sincere than some CheeOne. -

on a sidenote,singapore's politics kinda gets boring
PAP shoot opposition,opposition shoot PAP, PAP sues oppo and wins election cos they are too damn good -

its ok..coz even in SG, the non chinese face discriminations....im sure u have seen the only chinese, mandarin speaking preferered on job ads....its done so openly.....and if u look at ST(singapore Technologies) ...most of their staff r chinese...lets say this place is for chinese...even non chinese who r born here feel discriminated....and ..just look at all the PRC gettin PR here....... ... its ok to face racism elsewhere..but not in ur own country! there is somethin wrong wid da system...and the CHINESE ppl here tends to look down on other RACE....so farrkk it...im off to australia... -
Whoever wins should make it a point to create a conducive business environment and culture here. Singapore will definitely do more good with a few more Fortune 500 companies.
There can only be so much money if it's from Singapore. -

nope.....i am a chinese.........i am 100% PURE chinese....with too strong a chinese looks that scared the freak of australians who SHOT me with water that very nite............wow....i will really remember that very very day............
looking back at mandarin marina......i once saw a british lady working as a waitress here in SINGAPORE dude.......she was serving me and my friend.....and we asked and greeted her.....are you okay.........how's life......you know.....in an attempt to bring things and relations closer........not like the australians......who "BARE" their face in black mistrust.....
.......not all people hang around with that mentality that all people are bad............unforutanetely i met with some rough thugs there who "BENT" their principles..............anyway good luck is all i can say.....don't regret it if you ever get trampled.........
anyway i shan't talk further....you are welcomed to rebut me in any way.....be it curses or scowls.......for i am an "educated" english who's tongue cuts very sharply when needed......yet i am looked upon as though i don't understand english........

i am NON CHINESE born Here...and i feel we r discriminated not only by the Govt...but by chinese employers...by even our chinese friends..face it..how many of u all actually look down on ur non chinese friends secretly? now if u faced wid racism outside ur country u wanna cry? wht is worst? facin racism in ur country or outside ?? -

Well, track records had proven that PAP does not give empty promises during election when they make that kind of remark. Voters or fellow Singaporeans should view such comment seriously and then decide whether to give a tested and proven government a mandate for the next five years. If they cannot deliver, we can have them oust in the next 2011 election.
