  im looking into signing up for either UOB platinum card or DBS platinum card. could anyone provide me with information as to which one has better benefits? i don't golf, therefore those golfing benefits do not appeal much to me. thanks in advance

  I think DBS VISA platinum is by invitation only,not sure about UOB though.Benefits are about the same.

  nowadays these kind of "invitations" are everywhere...as long as U have a gold card...most likely they will "invite" U...sometimes silver card can get invited already...

  The invitations are mainly cater to existing credit card holders in DBS bank. Last time, they used to have the Amex with Visa/Mastercard platinum promo.

  isit? my colleague got rejected by DBS because she didn meet the criteria..
  i think certain banks are more stringent in the approval of cards..

  UOB have better dining privillages. DBS I got no idea.

  oh, but i think for banks like UOB, DBS and OCBC, if you have deposit money in their account, they can trace how much you have, and then determine if you can meet their "criteria" or not...thats what i think so...
  
  but anyway, carry too many cards also useless. In the end, use mainly one of those cards. Right?

  whether uob or dbs if u jus wanna make use of e goodies or freebies, both hav their own goodness... but as most fellow forumners hav mentioned uob has better dining privilege. however, if u compare uob n dbs rewards, dbs is better by a bit... but i still use uob more often...

  Just for your reference. I was invited by Standard Chartered 2 years back. SG$500 for lifetime Platinum Card membership. Those promotions are just to attract you, not good deals. Else the back eat what right?
  
  Looks good only lar. Usage the same. I prefer the normal ones cause ... if sales people know you use such cards, you don't have a good deal sometimes but cash is a option.
