Our work sector needs to be more cultured and polite

  Why is it in Singapore, working life is always rude, impolite...and having a barbaric or master- slave mentality?
  Some people have told me in western countries they dont practise this
  
  we need to evolve and change with the world.

  i believe most singaporean dont have the interest in their job, they just work for the sake of money so they tend to get stress easily.

  It id not good for us because let's say if are dealing with foreign companies for business ventures, hey might want to take a look here and may get turned away. Then you might lose a potential venture

  Went to this photocopying shop that day.. I was sourcing out a place to buy namecards. So I asked the missy at the counter for some price quotes.
  
  The way she spoke was as though I was asking for some horrid favours. A very condescending and sacarstic tone.
  
  I then asked if I could have a photocopy of their price list, so that I could go back and take a look. But she said 'Sorry, for internal circulation only'. With an even blacker face of course.
  
  Well, that shop is not getting any business from me!
  
  Singapore service sucks... no way the IMF conference delegates will find 3 million smiles here... bah!

  It isn't a surprise in my opinion, that a larger number of people in almost every sector, have become strained, stressed, and short on patience and politeness, when livelihood increasingly gets harder to maintain because of our - gov's policies and favortism towards FTs.
  
  I know, some will endorse the fact that competition is good, and that globalization means we have to compete and all that... but ultimately, NOT taking care of locals, our gov is just breeding more opposing strength.
  
  If our gov thinks that what they are doing is correct, why only just now, do they start to urge employers to hire locals - and older workers as a focus? SHOULDN'T they have looked into this way beforehand since they are all so INGENIOUS? Why wait till they now have to "fight a fire" that is raging?
  
  It looks to me very much like NEGLECT!

  Let me point out that, initially, in the earlier years of the 80s and 90s, people in most industries WERE more polite and accomodating.

  This is simple
  its becuz people like them only want to take back the
  salary without any passion put into their jobs
  so basically they are ONLY working for money
