Do you believe in self-fulfilling prophecies?

A self-fulfilling prophecy is a prediction that, in being made, actually causes itself to become true. For example, in the stock market, if it is widely believed that a crash is imminent, investors may lose confidence, sell most of their stock, and actually cause the crash. Or, if a candidate in an election openly declares they do not believe they can win, this may increase voter apathy and result in poor support for their campaign.

sure.. even in relationships.. when one side starts to second-guess the partner and becomes paranoid, the badgering and daily inquisition will start, maybe driving the other into the arms of another or into a breakup...

The most common is prediction of death.
I heard this one story before.
A Chinese gal went to see a fortune teller.Dunno what she asked but eventually it was revealed that she will die in a ugly manner at the age of 36 yrs old.
When she reached 36 yrs old, she feared everyday about dying ugly.
Then she could not take it and she comitted suicide by jumping down.
She self-fulfilled her prophecy...she died ugly at the age of 36 yrs old. -
i really believe i will strike toto next week.
so if i go buy toto, i will strike la?
