  though i have a reasonably large stash, it'll never be enough.. i can survive on my own & probably don't need to depend on bf at all.. but to show his love he must show it through his actions, shouldn't he?
  
  i cant afford to live without my facials, $200 hair cuts, weekly online shopping spree & all. but that doesn't mean my bf has to pay.. in fact i've been using most of my own money most of the time

  actually it has always been the case since humans came about, even though nowadays the emphasis have changed, but it's probably due to ppl being more affluent and able to generate more income than before (though it comes at the risk of social ills which we dun discuss here)....
  
  it's human nature... i can see more and more ppl putting off marriages and not marrying cos they fear they dun have money to raise a family...
