You prefer office hrs or shift work?

Been working shift work from 1995-2004. 2005 till present day office hours. Reasons: My social life sucks and tats the reason I want to change to office hours. But regret now. Reasons: My social sucks too.
No lah. Joking onli. Office hours quite siong. Must wake up so early in d morning. Shift work at least get more sleep/resting time. -
Shift tends to pass faster. OH is slow like hell. And you have the disadvantage of the freaking hot weather taking its toll on you.

the feeling of going to work on a sat night or sun morning is just sucky

OH is better. at least you can plan your schedules with friends on weekends. if work shifts... sometimes there will be days your friends are working and you are not. and vice versa.

i resign from my old job due to shift....now at least more stable hrs and more time for family...
but took a pay cut when i left...then again, now pay restore to last time liao...so i am happy...haha -
I started work with a variety of shift work... 7 am - 3 pm/3 pm - 11 pm shifts...
then project work that no day no night.. just work workwork until shoot finished.. go back rest...
then 3 shifts no weekends...
very burn-out. Can't go out with friends.. feel very left out.
so Now.. no more shift work -
heard from colleagues, who are on shifts, that it's quite demoralising going to work when most ppl are rushing home..

shift work, pay is higher than OH as we have shift allowance although is hrs is longer but you won't feel as siong as the OH as you don't meet your boss often

Think I'll prefer shift work. Cuz won't be so routine. And can get a way from the usual crowd. Example: Saturday and Sundays shopping always a lot people.

For shift work, I only enjoy the day shift 7am - 3pm. I have to wake up early as hell, but the hours seem to pass by faster. And at the end of it, I can still go home and take a quick nap before going out for dinner.
I absolutely hate the swing shift 3pm - 11pm. The hours just seem to drag on and on with no end in sight. -

tech for me OH ...can "pei" family and friends....but if have to take retail/shift work ..LL , but try to be flexible if possible.....Originally posted by Homecoming:State yr reasons.
