What do you think of Skype?
I use it to replace my MSN which the IT dept has blocked using firewall.
I think it's cool... but sometimes, the msg is like.... delayed for a couple of hours.
Other than that, I think it's cool. We don't need to pay Singtel unnecessary money to talk to friends in overseas. -

but one warning..they will be a irritating advertisment bar at the btm of the screen..but it will allow u to bypass without any problem.. -
i think this one can work behind firewalls la... i installed on my office comp also, never failed....
cos the nature of our work is such that we need to call international clients, then sometimes our VoIP/SIP softphone got problem then all crowd to my computer to make calls, then i can go tea break liao.... -

I think Skype is cool also because if I log off from office and then come home and connect to Skype, it will automatically bring me back to the group chat that I was in earlier and shows all the things that were talked about when I was not online.

Is skype a free programme? I heard from my friend that we need to pay for it...

You're right. It's so easy to connect to MSN.
And you're right again, the advertising bar is extremely irritating. I un-install it almost immediately....hahah -

I just found this link. My ex colleagues managed to download MSN from here and chat on MSN without being blocked by the firewall.
How does it work ah? -
maybe it uses wat u call an http gateway.
