  Eh? HD-DVD lab-tested 400GB successful? Hm... Didn't catch up with the news. I know that Blu-ray's maximum capacity is higher than HD-DVD.
  
  IF they manage to get the reading and writing speeds high enough, these discs may even be used for booting up an entire computer system in the future. Who needs hard disk when you can have a CD-R size storage medium of 400GB?

  Thats a nice idea. But 1 big barrier will be that disc has shorter life and is not as reliable as drives. But who knows, anything might just happen

  hard drive will have so much storage in the future you cant count and the storage space is negligible
  
  lugging around a cross cable and a laptop is the way to go now
