My niece and her mandate...

I am sure you know the 66% win is a "great" mandate thing.
It seems that 60%+ is now considered as "great" achievement not only in politics but also in normal life -
My niece came up to me recently and said that she is very proud she gotten 69 marks for one of her exam!
I ask her why was she so happy with only 69 marks?
She replied that the teacher said the pap won by 60+% in this year election and it was a great mandate. The teacher was explaining the meaning of mandate during her lesson.
She confided in me that she initially she was worried about getting 69 marks but after hearing teacher explaining that 60+% was great, she was really happy. So happy that it was the first time I see her running up to my sis with such eagerness informing her the results.
Upon hearing the "great" news, my sis was speechless -

Primary school 69 no big deal lar. Sec sch 69% is alot, considering how many people in my sch fail or get C6's all the way =P JC you can get 69% u shen liao lor

In secondary school the average of 70 marks is considered good.
In poly, as long you pass (not necessarily 50%) the coursework you can rejoice. Obviously i wasn't just content with passing. -
