The Ministry of Defence has announced that following the PAPÂ’s attaining 66.6% of the votes in the recent general election, it has begun preparations for Armageddon.
According to Colonel Tan, the spooky 66.6% number sent Mindef into a flurry. “I almost choked on my roti prata when I saw it.”
This is because according to Revelations Chapter 13 verse 18 in the Christian Bible, “Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six.”
“We know that 66.6% is not necessarily 666, the number of the Beast,” said Mindef spokesman Colonel S.A. Tan. “But we thought, better kiasu a bit. Maybe he’s only two thirds the Antichrist.”
Colonel Tan also said that because PM Lee was a trained mathematician, Mindef decided to do a numerological analysis based on a code employed by many biblical scholars, where the letters of the alphabet are assigned corresponding numbers (i.e., a = 1 and z = 26, etc) and this is what they came up with:

“We have no doubt our NSFs and NSMen will rise to the occasion,” said Colonel Tan. “After all, so many of them complain that the SAF puts them through hell, so this will be a proper test.”
Meanwhile, the Singapore Association of Churches has reacted with derision to the suggestion that the 66.6% figure has any significance for the Prime Minister being the antichrist.
