How to do source based questions for history!!

  what to do? i keep screwing up my sourced based questions for SS/history... can anyone tell me how to do well in it especially inference and COMPARE AND CONTRAST questions!!I am veryworried for my hist in o level next year!

  Always start with what your views, ad then back it up from the case. It will help you even more if you can quote from the textbook.

  You are same as me leh... but i ain't preparing for my 'o' levels... its next year end... still long... Well... history got 1 book ar... very very good 1... forget the title... inside got alot of souce based qns and answers, read and go thru and you shld roughly know how to do... u go popular find sure got..

  source based questions are no kick...tt is...if u know how to do them...
  
  for inference...infer the purpose of the source first. if u can't infer the purpose, try for tone, provenance etc etc. but if u infer the purpose of the source LOGICALLY with evidence and explanation...u will get around level 4 which is like 4 - 6 marks depending on the question. i dun take history(but scored in it when i was lower sec) but SS n history works about the same way.
  
  for compare and contrast questions, dun just compare n contrast content. try to compare purposes and tones, complete with evidence and explanation. that will be around level 4, about 5 marks too.
  
  always remember to hav PEE in ur answer.
