clicking noise from laptop..

  hmm recently heard some clicking nosie from my laptop, probable from harddisk ..is it norm?

  since day one or just started?
  
  some models the hdd is quite noisy
  
  if u feel insecure, back up everything and bring notebook to service centre

  Nowdays all notebook harddisks (fujitsu, IBM, Hitachi) are quiet models.
  
  Clicking (if from harddisk) = bad sector or file corruption. Send it in while it's still under warrenty.

  New hard disks, do not produce clicking noise.
  
  The clicking sound is caused by the Actuater Arm impacting the arm-guard - a metalic stopper preventing the arm from hitting the side of the housing.
  
  If you hear a click when you shutdown, better change the HDD.

  backup up everything and throw away you hard disk... do not pass go, do not collect $200/- backup up everything NOW

  okay.. if it's new, go get another one.. the HDD is faulty..
  
  mine is clicking.. and the thing tells me "HDD failure imminent"

  the hardisk is new....n i never dl porn....only sites i go to is blogs, forums, games nothing else zzzz...
  
  the sound isnt that loud, just that in a quiet env like midnite, can hear a bit..

  is it due to the trojans attack in my comp? i already dled symantec antivirus to quarantine n delete the virus liao lehz
  
  i want but i just took my laptop back from service center in my school, i like regular customer lor..can see ppl there already irritateted by my presence..
