which button do i hit to screenshot something on my screen?

use ur gun...
press print screen for the whole screen, alt + print screen for the active window/dialog box only.
the screenshot is put inside the clipboard, and u can paste it at mspaint.
if u dunno where the print screen button is, it is above the ins+del+home+end+pg up+pg dn group of buttons.
for mac, it's command+shift+3 for whole screen, command+shift+4 to select any part of the screen, command+shift+4+space to select any open window to capture. screenshots are saved to desktop. -

clipboard is the temp memory of your comp. just press the screen shot button, similar to cut and paste function. paste whereever you want it to be. That is my method.

To screencap, just press the 'print screen' button from your keyboard. Then open up photoshop (or other programs like it) and open up a new document. From there you just press Ctrl+v (pasting). -

Open up MS Paint and press Ctrl + V
If you want to screenshot an active window, press Alt + Print Screen
Then press Ctrl + V into MSPaint -

u can also try using a photostat machine or a scanner.

maybe if u've used office 2003 or something this clipboard thingy may have taken a more tangible form before... -
use yr hp cam n take a pic of yr screen...

click the print screen button la. u know where that is? mine's next to my pause. then go paint or something and click ctrl-v.

sometimes when i watch vcd in com, i pause the show, then i press print screen to capture a certain image,
but the image come out is all black AFTER i save it, why is this so?
and then how to solve this prob? -

solution...use vlc player...that player has screenshot function... -

you mean Video >> Snapshot ?
but i want to save as, eg. a jpeg file , the snapshot like nth 1, awhile later the small pic it captures begins to disappear.
