climb hill use 2x5 is ok for you? if too tiring switch to 1x4.
it's up to ur adaption. cannot climb then keep lowering the gear...
and 15m of steep hill dunch need to ask wat gear ratio one... u got climb NP that slope along clementi rd then say...

oh yes, another way is to stand up and ride, though if u not enough stamina or never eat enough will get cramp... this one is really high output...
if cannot please train... u wan to cycle have to train ur thigh muscles... -

spinning you should know what i mean, mashing is selecting a "heavy" gear to "mash" up the hill, hurts knees.
Spin and select a comfortable gear config while going up and ride more.
9x3 what?
Theres difference in number of teeth in both chainrings and cassette. -
Why did you get a bike with gears if you don't know how to use it? Learning is not a valid excuse.

like drive car, low gear for low speed and climb hill, high gear for high speed. point is to propel with optimal power output from ur leg a.k.a. the engine. not too powerful, not too weak, just nice.

If it's a steep slope, before you even reach it, gotta chiong a bit, then change front gear to 2 before you reach the hill, then lower the back gears gradually to whichever you feel comfortable. If really cannot, then lower to granny gear 1x3 or lower, but hope you got the stamina to spin. -

i usually don't stand-pedal all the way on a long slope also, easy to get cramps especially if cars are going past u, u dun wan to lost control due to cramps, so will only do a-fifth then gradually mark down the gear to spin.... -

Well, there no "ideal" back gear to start with, it depends on at which gear you are riding on flat roads, e.g. say, I'm riding at 3x5 on flat roads, so when I touch the start of the upslope, I may lower to 2x5 and continue pedalling...and if needed, gradually drop the back gears to 4, then 3 and that should be sufficient for most road conditions. Can't tell you really, it depends on the cyclist.
In general , you should be able to cycle while sitted spinning your way up without that much of difficulty.
For a hill of that gradient , the 2 gear on the front should be quite adequate, just play around wif the back -
u wan more power thn its the biggest gear behind n the smallest in front.
trial n error lah to each his own... -
