how much is it to change it to the new digital one?
now they're offering Xbox 360 for free after you've signed up for maxonline.
and lets say if you have already gotten the maxonline and the contract has already ended. if I renew it, will I get the 360 too?
last question.
is it true that if you have the sports channel already and you wish to subscribe to the world cup broadcast, you just have to pay extra to view the matches? -

think starhub is cheating money on making us using it and expect to pay the more expensive rental each month...

I think the digital setbox is cool.
You can check all the timings in a few seconds and all those features.
its worth it.

I think its about $4 for the first box but if like me, i get a second box for myself got to pay about $12. I believed you can get the xbox 360 if you re-contract with them for maxonline but i once wanted to re-contract my cable tv so that i can also get the promotional gift but they didn't allowed. They say must cancel my cable for 2 weeks then re-apply then can but 2 weeks later don't know still got the promotion or not. I think they are only taking people for a ride. In my opinion, singapore should have another cable tv provider asap cos the price is so expensive. Starhub making money like crazy cos no one to compete
with them. Sport channel alrdy so much $ somemore must pay for World Cup.
On your last Q. actually its about the same. if you alrdy have sport ch. you pay an additional of $15.75 + ur Sport Ch. $15.75 = $31.50
But if you don't have, you pay about $24+ for the WC so difference only 5-6 $.
I recently checked for my old uncle cos he is alrdy 70+ and not well-off but like to watch football, got no cable. The cheapest plan is:
Take 3 Basic group with digital box about $24+ (GST not included yet)
Sport Ch. + WC about $30. After WC cancel all left only basic at $25 per month for the next 2 months then can cancel the cable tv. ( Cos Starhub say must subscript for a minimum of 3 months ) My poor uncle, cannot afford also must take 3 months.
So the cheapest plan to watch this coming WC 2006 on starhub is about $110 including the GST.

and yes, if ur contract over, jus say u wan to terminate it, and for a couple of days u wun have internet, then go subscribe again. if they say cannot give u the 360, then change the register to another family member, if they still say cannot, write to ST forum

The other time when I called them up, they said that I'm eligible for the promotion gift if I re-contract. Can check with them again though.
