I myself prefer Creative. Don't know for you guys, but my earphones last quite long despite all the droppings and knockings.
The sound quality is quite good. The only glitch is the battery life.
Would buy an iPod if it doesn't need iTunes. I know there are freewares for it, but it's very troublesome. And I don't quite like iTunes. -
I also own the Samsung 20gb mp3. sound surely surpass creative alot of time. i love the SRS settings. cool. great enhance the music. and battery life can last 25 hrs. support asf format. i would prefer:
CREATIVE for - song format supported for the mp3 , sound quality, more functions then ipod , long lasting battery, style, cool looking design,screen colour is sharp . Convenient location if want to send mp3 to repair.
IPOD for - Poseur value , cool looking design, material of the ipod mini, lasting, laser engraving on the player
Samsung for - compact size, small looking.

Creative- Headjack problem ( not really sure if the new players still have this problem , but my zen micro have this problem ) , Material of the mp3( plastic for those cheap ones
IPOD- transferring music to the player via itunes, it takes long and quite troublesome if there is reapeated songs. Far location of service centre, battery is in the player , cant change and remove unless u send to service centre to change. Scratch complain that have happen in IPOD nano and IPOD video casing.
Samsung - ?? too small , lost easily if not kept properly.

and yes, shuffle and the latest ipod video are about the Only ones in the ipod range producing decent sound. -

Yeah... don't have. I am not that picky for music, so whether have SRS or not is not a problem. When I buy things, first thing I consider is whether they last. personally, ipod and samsung are quite attractive but price-wise arent really cheap. as for creative, they are a home brand and are quite good for their standards. but interface wise, not really as good as the ipod and samsung.

Bro I dun own just ipod ok, back to the old days. I had a creative nomad, nomad II MG and a a muvo V200 which i simply throw it to my sis. even now she complain how soft the volume is. and one thing. Creative always mention got future firmware upgrade. in the end what happen?
