are u refering to a elastic bend? i believe that guy did the "float" using the hummingbird (just some mag.wax and IT), just do a search and u wld find the source on how to do it..
however, it do needs alot of practice, setup... not my cup of tea though -

U need the following
1) A ball of beeswax
2) Invisible thread (To practice u can use sewing thread)
3) Card
The beewax is stuck to the back of the ear with 1 end of the string. the other end is stuck to the centre of the card with a little beeswax...then u flick the card and turn ur head...the card will swing from left to right and right to left...
require practice. -

the blutack which is stuck on the card to support right ? when the want to examine then sweep ur finger across and stuck it under the fingernail then show the audience . ear use trans tape, for card use bluetag! very cheap...
once u practice and expert... den use softwax..
for strings, figure it out urself! mine cant be seen even if i put it infront of ur eyes! -
