I am more willing to accept Magneto's idea..why protect the humans who are trying their best to get rid of u?
And in X-Men 3, Prof. X's idealogy finally led to his death. Magneto's Cause is more benificial and crucial for the survival of mutants.

Onslaught only existed for a while ..after he's defeated, Prof. X n Magneto were de-fusioned, never to be Onslaught again.
Apocalypse however merely went into another dimension when he's defeated each time and comes back to seek revenge after he's recharged his powers.
But, Apocalypse was finally killed by Cable, Cyclop's son!
P.S. : Cable is the guy with the gun(wears cyclop's uniform ) in Marvel vs Capcom 2! -
